Ductless Mini Splits
Many will claim that the days of conventional ducted air conditioning and heating equipment are numbered and that mini-split technology is the way of the future. While were not sure we have reached that point, there certainly are applications where conventional heating and cooling equipment may not be the solution you need. Examples include room additions, sunrooms, mancaves, she shacks, workshops, etc. For these applications a ductless mini-split heat pump is ideal. These units are extremely energy efficient, require very little structure modification to install and provide both heating and cooling. Additionally, these units are extremely cost efficient. Call Quinn Heating and Cooling for a free evaluation of your needs. We provide a free consultation and if this is the appropriate application, we’ll work to earn your business.
Air Purification Systems
Perhaps one of the most overlooked aspects of indoor air quality is that of filtration and air purification. Standard air filters are designed primarily to protect the coils of the equipment from fouling so that they can do their job of transferring heat optimally. They do little to improve the quality of the air. Available replacement filters that claim certain contaminant removal specifications however may negatively affect your systems air flow and performance. We can provide air filtration systems that are matched to your heating and cooling equipment. These systems will trap dust, pollen and other airborne allergens and pollutants. Let Quinn Heating and Cooling provide the air purification system you need to breathe easier.
Dehumidifiers
It’s been published that approximately 50% of the air on the first floor of your home comes from your crawl space. While this statement is likely a gross exaggeration for most homes as it discounts the effects of insulation and even the flooring, it is true that excess moisture can be a real problem. A damp crawlspace can lead to indoor air quality issues as well as wood rot, structural damage, musty smells or odors, pests, and mold. A home’s energy consumption can also increase significantly as moisture negates the effect of the under-floor insulation. These severe issues can often be eliminated with the installation of a crawlspace dehumidifier. A crawlspace dehumidifier is basically a self-contained piece of refrigeration equipment whose main purpose is to condense water vapor from the air. At Quinn Heating and Cooling we not only know what these systems do, we understand how they work. Many firms will sell you a dehumidifier and while many even offer good equipment, conditioning an air space isn’t their main focus. At Quinn Heating and Cooling, conditioning air is what we do. We aren’t exterminators, we are air quality professionals and we believe that’s what you need when dealing with crawlspace moisture. We offer Aprilaire dehumidifiers and welcome the opportunity to show you why we believe they are among the best. We have one under our own home.
Surge Protection
If you live in the Eastern North Carolina counties of Wayne, Wilson, Green, Lenoir, Duplin, Sampson or Johnston, you know that we often receive powerful thunder storms. You may even have surge protectors to protect your sensitive electronic equipment for power surges that often occur in conjunction with these storms. Did you know however that today’s Heating and air equipment is packed with sophisticated electronics. Sensors and microprocessors control everything from the compressor to the indoor and outdoor fans and continuously optimize the system across a wide range of outdoor conditions. These are typically contained on the system’s circuit board and unfortunately, a fried circuit board can’t be repaired, it has to be replaced. Fortunately, It’s easy and inexpensive to add surge protection to a heat pump system. Call Quinn Heating and Cooling and we will be happy to provide the protection your system needs.
Thermostats
Today’s thermostats can do far more than simply turn your heat or AC on and off. They can adjust settings depending on the time of the day, day of the week, whether people are home and can be an integral part of a total home automation system. From basic systems to sophisticated wi-fi enabled smart devices, we are ready to help you with the control system that will best fit you and your lifestyle.
Ultraviolet Lamp Kits
One of the best things you can do to control the cleanliness of your HVAC system and prevent the growth of mold within the system is to install a simple Ultraviolet, UV light kit. UV light has been shown to kill fungi and bacteria within a central HVAC system. Unchecked these contaminants can grow within the system and the cold damp coils of the indoor air unit are the most prominent location for this to occur. The right UV light system can kill these harmful germs and will keep your system clean and running at its best. If you are concerned about the presence of mold and bacterial within your HVAC equipment, contact Quinn Heating and Cooling for a free evaluation.
